The Greenbacks’ program is successful because of the involvement of everyone who has ever purchased a card.  This is truly “the fund raiser that does not cost you money” since you will be purchasing groceries, going to restaurants, buying gifts or improving your home, etc, with or without the cards. 
 
Since 1997 when the program was started with only grocery gift certificates, the program has been able to provide over $24,000 toward its stated mission to designate its profits for new and existing building maintenance and/or furnishings not included in the Church budget.  Our most recent donation was $4,275 toward the painting and carpeting of Fellowship Hall.
 
Great Lakes Scrip Center is the company from which we purchase the gift cards.  The gift cards are purchased at a discount from 2% to as much as 15%.  The discount is earned by our program before the card is sold at face value.  Greenbacks maintains a wide selection of gift cards to 55 retailers, restaurants and grocery stores.  However, Great Lakes Scrip Center maintains over 680 stores, restaurants and services including hotels and gas stations which are available for special orders just by requesting them.  A current retailer list is always available at the Greenbacks table in the Church lobby or CLICK HERE to visit the Great Lakes Scrip Center website for a current list.
 
The Greenbacks cards are available in the Church lobby every Sunday from 9:15 to 11:15.  Let us help you with your shopping needs and make every day less stressful and at the same time also donating to your Church.  A list of the items which participation in this gift program has provided to Green Valley Church is available at the Greenbacks table each Sunday and can be viewed in the display case in the lobby.  Please let us know which card(s) you would like and we will make sure that we have them for you!
