Haiti Mission Trip Details Becoming Clearer
A short-term volunteer-in-mission trip is planned for spring break, 2013 to supply and install a water purification system at an orphanage in Philadelphia, Haiti. A team of GVUMC volunteers is being organized right now to be the hands of Christ in this very poor part of the world.
The trip will be March 23-March 31, 2013.
Anyone 16 years of age or older is welcome. No specific skills are required other than the desire to serve others. Work will not be difficult but living conditions will be somewhat spartan:
The cost of the water system will be covered by GVUMC fund raising projects this summer and fall. Team members will be responsible for their own travel costs, estimated currently at about $950 depending on final airfare costs, plus any costs a participant incurs for passport, vaccinations, etc.
Team participation will be limited to 10 individuals.
