The Raining Season is dedicated to helping the orphans and struggling families of Sierra Leone in West Africa. The Raining Season operates an orphanage in Freetown, the capital of Sierra Leone. It is called The Covering and currently houses 85 orphans ranging from infants to mid-teens.
Each child has been rescued from abject poverty and hopelessness. At The Covering the children receive housing, 3 healthy meals a day, clothing, school, medical care, and a 24-hour a day Christian environment.
GVUMC members have travelled to Sierra Leone to see first hand the incredible work of The Raining Season. Many have "adopted" orphans be providing monthly support for their orphans.
