544 of Indonesia's 783 people groups do not have even Bible portions available in their primary language. The largest of these is the Betawi, 5,150,000.

Friends in the Desert
Each first, second and third Monday of the month, and the first Friday of the month, servants from Green Valley Methodist meet at St. Timothy's Church in Henderson to serve dinner to those in need. No criteria is required for people to serve or be served other than a willingness and need to do so.
The meals are prepared earlier in the day by one group of people and then cooked and served on site by a second group. The menu often includes salad, meat loaf, green beans, maccaroni and cheese, rolls and often a surprise desert. The needs are great, but the rewards even greater for all.
GVUMC has served over 24,000 meals to the homeless through Friends in the Desert over the past 9+ years.
